Open Days

We open on a selection of weekends between April and November (normally these include Bank Holiday weekends) as shown in the  calendar below. Admission for events with a brown background is charged at our Standard rate; ones with a red background are Premium events and charged at higher prices.

Details of our 2024 and 2025 open days are provisional, so although the dates we will be open are unlikely to change, any special themes may be subject to alteration – so please keep checking back!

We can open for private visits on other dates if arranged in advance – there is a minimum charge for this. If you’d like to know more, check this page.

Open on Sunday from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm; last admission 3.30 pm.

Admission Prices: This event is a Premium Open Day and NOT INCLUDED in our unlimited re-admission offer so all admission tickets must be purchased on the day. For full details please check our Admission Prices page.

What's happening: The Isle of Axholme Running Day 2024, organised by the Doncaster Omnibus & Light Railway Society. Attractions include

  • Performance by renowned sitar player, Sheema Mukherjee, bass guitarist and sitar player with Transglobal Underground and who records with Cornershop
  • Sales stands
  • Displays of vintage vehicles - cars, buses and lorries
  • Motorbus tours of the local area
  • A wide selection of trolleybuses providing rides throughout the day
  • And all our usual attractions.

Getting to the MuseumWe are running free buses from and to Doncaster. Buses depart Doncaster Interchange, Stand C6 at 1100 and 1200, returning from the Museum at 1505 and 1605, arriving at Doncaster at 1615 and 1703 respectively. More details can be found here.

Twilight Open Day

Open 11.30am to 6pm. Last admission 5.00 pm.

What's happening: The clocks have gone back so why not experience riding on trolleybuses after dark, with the saloon lights flickering as they run through the points! Plus all our usual attractions.
