It’s a really enjoyable day –

“Thank you Richard to you and your team for the very memorable day yesterday; very enjoyable and really appreciated.”

“What a superb day you and your fellow enthusiasts gave us. I’m still grinning now as I think back to the clicks, “dead spaces” and heft of not
only the wheel but clambering in and out of the cabin. Getting the cornering speeds was but one highlight but maneuvering in the yard has to be the most rewarding – and difficult! What an experience”

“A quick email to say thank you for a really enjoyable day. You and your staff are obviously extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what you do. It was an absolute pleasure to experience the day. also many thanks to the catering staff as the food was absolutely excellent”

“Thanks for sending the photo’s and for you and your team for providing a very enjoyable day yesterday. I must admit that I did not realise that there is so much more to driving a trolleybus than a diesel version.”

“Hi Richard, Great day yesterday. Excellent team, excellent food, excellent company, excellent trolleybus. Look forward to seeing you and the team again.”

“Many thanks for this. We both had a great day, and enjoyed the experience tremendously. Thanks again for your forbearance when we made mistakes. You, Mike and Dave must have the patience of saints !”

“Please accept my thanks for providing a wonderful day. This was mainly as a day to celebrate my brother’s 60th birthday, and he is still buzzing with excitement now,  but we all found it very enjoyable…. The organisation from the initial enquiry to the actual day was superb and please pass on my thanks to all concerned. Also a special thanks for the catering. Certainly fed us well.”

“I know my brother will be a regular visitor and I’m sure I will be joining him sometimes. Again  many thanks to all and hope to meet again soon.”

“An excellent trolleybus Driving Experience on Saturday 5 July 2025.

“The buffet was really tasty with plentiful portions. With the ability for light refreshments at the start of the day, a lunch break, a mid-afternoon tea break and the end of the day certificate presentations a really well-balanced Experience is ensured so that participants will not get physically tired but derive most enjoyment.

“Normally there would be 4 participants on an Experience but this time there were just 2. The strength of the Organisation came through from the ease at which the amended timetable for the day went ahead. The Course is excellently structured with the five separate elements being taken in a very logical order. Not only that but as the participants work through the various steps the skill levels required increase progressively. No one should be put off because the structure in each step provides for a development of those skills which will invariably lead to a gaining in confidence. Once the 5 stages have been completed, the finale comes with the joining of them all together for the 6th stage – the completion of a full service run. This involves departing from the terminus in Sandtoft Square, performing two trips via the inner circuit, then a turn onto the outer circuit. Two trips are made on the outer circuit, then, by activating the automatic “frog” a further turn in the Square back to the terminus. The term “frog” refers to where wires diverge or converge.

“So the Experience isn’t just a case of the relevant skills to drive a 2-axle heritage trolleybus safely but also to learn how to navigate a well condensed infrastructure.

“The objectives of the Experience are well met. The participants should never look at a target of driving more quickly as the day progresses but, instead, if all goes to plan you will finish the day driving more smoothly, competently and confidently. Many thanks again”
