The Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft is a Registered Charity (no.514382) and depends on donations and fundraising efforts, so we’re always pleased to receive monetary donations and bequests. Apart from our general maintenance fund for the operation and enhancement of the Museum, we also have some dedicated appeals and funds donated to these are ring-fenced for those particular purposes – for more information about these, please go to our Appeals page.
Donations:
We encourage individuals to make donations with Gift Aid as this enables us to claim from HM Revenue & Customs the tax paid by that individual on their donation, effectively enhancing the amount by 25%. Donating via Gift Aid is a simple process: you can download a Gift Aid declaration form here to accompany your donation or you can complete one when visiting the Museum. We are not able to process Gift Aid claims on monetary donations from organisations, although some organisations may be able to offset donations to us (as a registered charity) against their Corporation Tax.
Donations may be:
- Handed in at the Museum;
- Sent by post to the Museum address – (cheques should be made payable to “The Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft”). Please do not send cash to us by post;
- By internet banking. Please email us for our bank details; or
- Use the donate button below:
Bequests:
Making a bequest to a Registered Charity in your will may reduce, or even eliminate, any Inheritance Tax liability. Advice on making a will and bequests to a charity should always be sought from a legal or financial advisor.

Artefacts
The Trolleybus Museum is always interested in considering offers of the loan or donation of transport-related collections (including photographic collections) or artefacts, and items relevant to the social history of the 1950s and 1960s for inclusion in our archives and displays. Similarly, we are also interested in bequests of such collections and items.
Each collection or item will be considered on its own merits and we cannot guarantee we will be able to accept a collection or item. Therefore, if you plan to donate large items or consignments or will have to travel a long distance, it’s advisable to check that we are likely to be interested in the object(s) first.
